Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Ormskirk, Lancashire. The role offers flexible day-to-day supply to support ASC and SEND pupils, helping them access the National Curriculum.

The successful candidate will provide tailored 1:1 and small group support, assist with classroom activities, and work closely with the class teacher to foster an inclusive learning environment with patience and enthusiasm.

Qualifications

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
• Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition / ASC.
• Experience working with pupils with SEND within a primary school setting.
• An understanding of behaviour management strategies and differentiated learning approaches.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Patient, caring and adaptable approach with passion for supporting children with additional needs.

Start Date: Immediate Start

Salary: £100 - £160 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream Primary School based in the area of Ormskirk, who are looking to appoint a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to support children with additional learning needs in a primary school environment, helping pupils develop their confidence, communication skills and independence whilst accessing the National Curriculum.

The school is looking to take on a passionate SEND Teaching Assistant on a flexible, day-to-day basis, supporting pupils with autism spectrum disorder / ASD across the primary age range. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will provide tailored 1:1 and small group support where required, assist with classroom activities, implement individual learning strategies and work closely with the class teacher to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
• Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition / ASC
• Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities / SEND within a primary school setting
• An understanding of behaviour management strategies and differentiated learning approaches
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
