Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd. is recruiting a dedicated Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with severe autism in Tower Hamlets, East London.

The role suits experienced SEND professionals, Teaching Assistants, or those with a strong autism support background, aiming to make a meaningful impact on the learner's development and confidence throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with autism and complex SEND needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach with ability to build trusting relationships.
• Experience supporting pupils with anxiety, emotional regulation, or challenging behaviour.
• Confidence implementing strategies to support positive behaviour and engagement.
• Ability to remain composed and proactive in situations where a pupil may become distressed.
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs and helping them achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with severe autism.
• Supporting the pupil's learning, communication, and emotional wellbeing.
• Helping to create a safe and structured learning environment.
• Working alongside teachers and SEND professionals to implement individual support strategies.
• Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive engagement in school life.
