Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a welcoming SEND school in Sutton. You will support a pupil with autism on a daily basis, helping with personalised learning activities and building confidence in a nurturing environment.

This long-term role offers an opportunity to work closely with the class teacher and SEN team, using calm, patient communication to encourage independence, social skills and resilience in the pupil you support.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children in SEND schools.
• Ability to provide personalised learning activities.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and adapt to challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support a pupil with autism on a one-to-one and small groups basis.
• Help with personalised learning activities.
• Encourage communication, independence, and social skills.
• Provide calm and positive behaviour support.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SEN team.
