Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking dedicated 1:1 SEN Tutors to support children and young people across Rugby and surrounding areas from October 2026. This role offers flexible hours within school terms, typically 8:00am-4:00pm.

You will deliver tailored 1:1 tuition in Maths, English and Science, adapt lessons to individual needs, and monitor progress while building strong relationships with students, families and schools.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience supporting students with SEN and/or additional needs
• Strong knowledge of the UK curriculum
• Experience teaching or tutoring core subjects including Maths and English
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learner needs
• Compassionate, patient, and child-centred approach
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored 1:1 tuition sessions to students with SEN and additional needs
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in core subjects including Maths, English, and Science
• Adapt lessons to suit individual learning styles, academic ability, and EHCP targets
• Build positive and trusting relationships with students, families, schools, and professionals
• Monitor, assess, and record student progress, providing regular feedback where required
• Create a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment
• Work independently while receiving ongoing support from the Tradewind Tuition Team
• Flexible working hours available within school hours (8:00am-4:00pm, Monday to Friday)
