Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a 1:1 SEN Tutor to support children and young people in Southam and surrounding areas from October 2026. The role involves delivering tailored tuition across core subjects, with flexible hours within school times (8:00am-4:00pm).

The successful candidate will hold QTS, have SEN experience, and a strong grasp of the UK curriculum. DBS update service or willingness to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• Experience supporting students with SEN and/or additional needs.
• Strong knowledge of the UK curriculum.
• Experience teaching or tutoring core subjects including Maths and English.
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learner needs.
• Compassionate, patient, and child-centred approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored 1:1 tuition sessions to students with SEN and additional needs.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Maths, English, and Science.
• Adapt lessons to suit individual learning styles and EHCP targets.
• Build positive relationships with students, families, schools, and professionals.
• Monitor, assess, and record student progress with regular feedback.
• Create a safe, structured learning environment.
• Work independently while receiving support from Tradewind Tuition Team.
• Flexible working hours within school hours (8:00am-4:00pm, Mon-Fri).
