Job summary

Flourish Education is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a Year 6 classroom of a Wythall primary school. This is a full-time role, 8:30 am–3:30 pm, starting mid-October on a fixed-term contract with potential extension.

The successful candidate will provide 1:1 support to the pupil, helping access learning, develop confidence and independence, and work closely with the class teacher to ensure safeguarding and inclusive learning throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Experience as Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant in an education setting.
• Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
• Experience providing 1:1 support in a primary school environment.
• Ability to build positive relationships with the child and the school team.
• DBS check updated within the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to the pupil in Year 6.
• Work closely with the class teacher and wider school team.
• Help the child engage with learning and progress.
• Promote safeguarding and an inclusive learning environment.
• Maintain a patient, caring approach and build trust with the pupil.
