Long Term Futures Ltd in Halesowen is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across KS1 and KS2 with ASD/ ADHD and other needs. This full-time role runs term-time, 8:30am-3:30pm, with a starting ASAP date.

You will work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and support staff to help learners access the curriculum and develop confidence. The role involves 1:1 support, behavioural regulation, and collaboration to implement EHCP targets.

Qualifications

  • Experience providing 1:1 SEN support in primary or specialist settings.
  • Ability to adapt activities for individual learning and communication needs.
  • Knowledge of strategies for behavioural and emotional regulation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 SEN support to pupils across KS1 and KS2.
  • Support pupils with ASD, ADHD and complex needs.
  • Support non-verbal pupils and those with speech and language needs.
  • Adapt classroom activities to suit individual learning and communication needs.
  • Support pupils with emotional and behavioural regulation.
  • Recognise triggers and use de-escalation strategies.
  • Use visual communication and sensory approaches where appropriate.
  • Support communication, social interaction and relationships.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and engagement with learning.
  • Work towards targets outlined in EHCPs and support plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO and other professionals.
