Job summary

Long Term Futures Ltd is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to support children across KS1 and KS2 in a welcoming primary school in Walsall. The role focuses on 1:1 SEN support within both the classroom and SEND provision, helping pupils with learning, behaviour and emotional regulation.

You will work closely with teachers and the SEND team to build confidence and positive learning habits, with trial days and access to CPD training.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
• Experience supporting primary-aged children with SEN.
• Experience managing challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
• A patient, calm and consistent approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 SEN support to pupils across KS1 and KS2.
• Support children's learning within the classroom.
• Work with pupils in the school's dedicated SEND space.
• Help pupils manage challenging behaviour and regulate emotions.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with individual children.
• Encourage confidence, independence and positive learning habits.
• Work closely with class teachers and the school's SEND team.
