Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Walton-le-Dale, Preston. This long-term, term-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with ongoing collaboration alongside the class teacher and SENDCO to help the pupil access the curriculum.

You will implement EHCP targets, support behavioural regulation, and maintain clear logs for teachers and parents. DBS with Update Service is preferred; Level 2/3 TA qualifications are desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children in primary, specialist, or nursery settings.
• Level 2/3 TA qualification desirable.
• Confident with safeguarding and DBS requirements.
• Patient, empathetic, and able to build trust with children.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 academic, emotional, and social support to an individual pupil.
• Implement EHCP targets and adapt tasks into accessible activities.
• Support positive behaviour management and de-escalation as needed.
• Facilitate sensory breaks, motor activities, and play-based regulation sessions.
• Encourage independence and positive peer interaction throughout the day.
• Maintain clear daily logs and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
