Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional learning needs across local primary and secondary schools. You can choose a flexible day-to-day schedule with regular local bookings.

Work hours run 8:30 AM–3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with weekly PAYE pay. An Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) is required, and Randstad UK will connect you with suitable schools and roles.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN in education or care.
• Patient, resilient, proactive and encouraging personality.
• Adaptability to different classrooms and rapport with students quickly.
• Enhanced DBSUpdate Service (or willing to apply) with suitable references.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 academic, emotional, and behavioural support.
• Assist students with activities adapted by the class teacher.
• Support emotional regulation, sensory breaks and positive learning.
• Foster independence, self-esteem and social communication.
• Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs and support staff.
