Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional learning needs across primary and secondary schools. You can choose your own schedule with regular local bookings, earning weekly PAYE pay.

Responsibilities include providing tailored support, assisting with classroom activities, and promoting positive behaviours. A DBS check is required or you must be willing to apply for one.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in educational or care settings.
• Patient, resilient, proactive and encouraging personality.
• Adaptability to different classroom environments and rapport with students.
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one and suitable references.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 academic, emotional, and behavioural support to assigned pupils.
• Help students engage with classroom activities as adapted by the teacher.
• Assist with emotional regulation and sensory breaks to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Foster independence, self-esteem, and social communication skills.
• Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs, and school support staff.
