Job summary

Ilmington C of E Primary School is seeking a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a child with SEN, both in class and during lessons, with EHCP interventions. The role involves teamwork with the teacher, SENDCo, and families to monitor progress and promote independence.

The successful candidate will have LSA/TA qualifications, experience with autism/PDA, and a commitment to safeguarding. The post is fixed-term, term-time plus one-week, with a probation period of six months.

Qualifications

• LSA/TA qualification preferred.
• Experience working with children and SEN.
• Experience in autism and PDA is advantageous.
• Commitment to high behavioural standards and learning motivation.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills for supporting tasks.
• Respect for equal opportunities and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide structure and routine to the child’s learning environment.
• Deliver interventions and monitor progress toward EHCP goals.
• Adapt materials and break down tasks to aid understanding.
• Support positive peer interactions and emotional regulation.
• Promote independence and self-help skills within a small team.
• Collaborate with class teacher, SENDCo, parents, and external pros.
• Ensure safeguarding and regular communication with parents.
