Job summary

Thameside Primary School is seeking a proactive 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil with specific needs in the classroom. The role focuses on assisting learning, behaviour management and safeguarding during lessons.

The successful candidate will have experience or interest in supporting pupils with SEN, including autism, and will work 29 hours 10 minutes per week during term time. NVQ qualifications or equivalent preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with special educational needs.
• Interest in supporting pupils with SEN, e.g. autism.
• Good standard of English and Mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils to stay engaged in learning activities.
• Promote inclusion and positive pupil behaviour in class.
• Provide feedback to the teacher on pupil progress and behaviour.
