Job summary

Remedy Education in East London is seeking a dedicated Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Newham. You will work 1:1 with students who have severe to high-functioning autism, helping them develop life skills and participate in lessons.

The role starts ASAP / September, is full-time until the end of the academic year with potential extension, and is accessible by public transport with on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with complex SEN needs.
• Experience with autism.
• Familiar with PECS and visual supports.
• Knowledge of EHCPs and access arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for students with autism.
• Support classroom teacher and other TAs.
• Implement PECS and visual aids to support learning.
• Assist with behaviour management and personal care when needed.
• Create a calm, engaging learning environment tailored to each child.
