Job summary

Randstad Staffing is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a SEN school in Godalming. You will work 1:1 with Autistic students and help implement a personalised curriculum in a calm, supportive environment that values clear routines and gentle guidance.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 08:30–16:15, term-time only. Benefits include on-site parking, free meals, on-the-job training and funded development; GCSE Maths and English are required, with right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• The ability to work with learners that have various SEN needs.
• A willingness to learn and build relationships with learners.
• Confidence to support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects.
• The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team.
• Flexibility in their approach to education.
• Experience working in SEND settings is desirable but not essential.
• Right to work in the UK.
• GCSE Maths and English.

Responsibilities

• Providing assistance to the teacher defined according to weekly/daily/sessional planning.
• Working 1:1 with students.
• Providing group and/or individual activities, planned by the teacher.
• Working individually with learners/students to develop work.
• Supporting the general well being of learners within the structure of the school.
• Monitoring and evaluating students learning under the guidance of the teacher.
• Assisting teachers in the use of relevant management strategies to ensure a purposeful environment for teaching and learning to take place.
• Supporting all learners in their planned structured work in all curriculum areas.
