Job summary

Veritas Education is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support two pupils with Autism on a 1:1 basis at a primary school in Leeds (LS9). The role is full-time and long-term, with mornings for Year 3 and afternoons for Year 1.

You will work independently where required, manage challenging behaviours calmly, and build positive relationships to support communication and inclusion throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with Autism/SEND is required.
• Proven ability to provide 1:1 support to primary-aged pupils.
• Strong behaviour-management skills and patience.
• Able to work calmly and consistently in varied environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil in the morning and a Year 1 pupil in the afternoon.
• Support learning and engagement outside the main classroom when needed.
• Build positive relationships and support communication where required.
• Maintain safeguarding and report any concerns promptly.
