Job summary

Supply Desk are seeking a 1:1 primary teaching assistant to work with a child with Autism in a Fareham area school rated Good by Ofsted. The position starts October 2026, with a daily pay rate of £85-£92 and working hours from 08:30 to 15:30, Monday to Friday.

The role involves supporting a Year 3 pupil, adapting resources to meet needs, and helping regulate emotions using PECS, zones of regulation and sensory circuits. Long-term, full-time contract.

Qualifications

• Experience working with a child with Autism in a school setting.
• Ability to adapt resources to individual needs and support emotional regulation.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil.
• Use PECS, zones of regulation and sensory strategies.
• Create trusting relationships with pupil and teachers.
