Palicao is recruiting for its client, a division of a CAC 40 group operating in the energy sector and present in France and North-America, a :

Division Safety Officer F / M

Missions of Division Safety Officers will typically include, but are not limited to, the following duties.

• Act as a sparring partner of the Head of Division on Safety matters
• Proactively engage with Departement Managing Directors on Safety matters
• Assist Division and Department Management with proper investigation and documentation of all fatalities and HIPOs.
• Provide expertise and methods for systematic analysis of any event with high severity potential (HIPO), with the aim of anticipating and preventing any accident liable to have serious or fatal consequences.
• Share information and lessons-learned on all fatalities, HIPOs and best practice, with Department Managing Directors and Department Safety Officers, and with Safety Officers of other Divisions.
• Monitor and analyze relevant Health & Safety KPIs.

• Develop and facilitate safety networks.
• Coach / mentor Department Safety Officers.
• Ensure Department Safety Officers have appropriate skills through direct observation, discussion and other evaluation means, and tailored skills development actions.

Actively contribute to the group common effort for safety by engaging in :

Act as Safety Officer for Division-level Holding companies, with a full scope of responsibilities : hazard identification and awareness, hazard mitigation, incident and accident investigation, training and communication, documentation, and reporting…

You are a graduate of higher education (engineering school or equivalent) and you have a proven experience as a Safety Director, acquired internationally, ideally in North America.

• A Division Safety Officer should be an expert in safety matters :
• Several years’ experience in Safety management
• Thorough knowledge of current safety standards and practices
• Interpersonal and soft skills
• Close to people, hands-on, and down-to-earth,
• Intervenes appropriately in Safety management : continuous expert monitoring and act when necessary, towards managers and Departent Safety Officers,
• Leadership and influence based on ability to understand situations, analyze data and provide concrete solutions to the needs of the Departments and Division,
• Highly effective with leading and coordinating networks,
• Able to establish, cultivate, and retain relationships and work effectively with others,
• Strong oral and written communication skills,
• Supports change initiatives regarding Health & Safety,
• Excellent proficiency in English (C1) and French
