Overview

HR Manager – France. Introduction to the team: If you're ready to take the next step in your HR career and thrive in a role where no two days are the same — managing varied ER matters, driving people-focused solutions, and contributing to meaningful change — we’d love to hear from you. You’ll join a supportive team, gain exposure to exciting regional work, and help shape a positive employee experience across the business. This role delivers high-quality, consistent support in employee relations across France, ensuring alignment with local labor laws and company policies. The HR Manager will act as a key partner in fostering a positive work environment, managing complex employee cases, and maintaining strong relationships with social partners and labor authorities.

Responsibilities

HR Strategy & Leadership

  • Support and guide HR strategies that align with both business objectives and French legal requirements.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership and business partners, providing guidance on organizational design and implementation.
  • Support change management initiatives and drive HR projects that enhance organizational effectiveness.

Social Dialogue & Legal Compliance

  • Lead all interactions with Works Council, including the preparation and execution of mandatory consultations and reorganizational plans.
  • Act as the primary liaison with labor authorities, external legal counsel, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with French employment legislation, collective bargaining agreements, and internal HR policies.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and legally compliant work environment through proactive employee relations strategies.
  • Handle complex employee relations issues, including investigations, grievances, and disciplinary actions, with discretion, fairness, and legal accuracy.
  • Provide advice, coaching and support to people managers and leaders on the full scope of Employee Relation work; proactively identify trends and recommend solutions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of France employment legislation, regulatory frameworks, and HR policy to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Collaborate with broader projects while effectively managing priorities and a varied ER caseload.
  • Analyze ER trends and provide insights to drive proactive interventions, coaching, and policy improvements.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of HR processes, tools, and KPIs to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
Experience and Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of French labor law and HR best practices, including collective agreements and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with employment practices in the France market; knowledge of other countries (e.g., Belgium) is a plus.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, reporting, and collaboration.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed, multicultural environment, with a proactive mindset.
