Job summary

SMBC Group in Paris seeks a VP, GFIG Coverage to lead EU-based relationship management for Southern and Eastern Europe, coordinating multi-product solutions for banks, broker-dealers, and other financial institutions.

The role requires deep FI coverage experience, strong credit and risk awareness, and the ability to drive client origination while collaborating with product specialists across the global network.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years in FI coverage or client-facing IB roles.
• Existing relationships with banks or financial institutions.
• Fluency in English; French/Spanish/Italian advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Act as EU-based contact for an assigned portfolio of banks and financial institutions across Southern and Eastern Europe.
• Lead relationship management and origination for selected clients; implement client strategies.
• Coordinate lending structuring, financing opportunities, and multi-product solutions with risk oversight.
