Job summary
SMBC Group in Paris seeks an Associate/AVP for GFIG Coverage – Relationship Management to cover Financial Institutions across Southern and Eastern Europe. You will originate and execute lending and banking solutions, coordinate multi-product strategies, and travel across EU to support clients in Spain and Italy.
The role offers development within a global banking platform, with collaboration across SMBC’s network in Europe and beyond.
Qualifications
- 3+ years in Financial Institutions coverage or related client-facing banking role
- Solid understanding of banks, broker-dealers, and non-bank financial institutions
- Strong knowledge of credit and financial analysis; experience with lending transactions
Responsibilities
- Act as a key EU-based contact for an assigned portfolio across Southern and Eastern Europe
- Support senior GFIG bankers in client strategies and origination
- Contribute to origination, structuring, and execution of lending and banking transactions
- Coordinate with Capital Markets, Treasury, Lending, Trade Finance, Structured Finance, Credit, Legal, Compliance and Operations
- Manage KYC, credit, pipeline reporting and transaction monitoring
