Job summary

SMBC Group in Paris seeks an Executive Director, GFIG Coverage – Relationship Management, to drive relationship strategies for Financial Institutions across Southern and Eastern Europe. You will originate multi-product opportunities and lead senior client dialogue with banks, insurers, asset managers, and other institutions.

The role requires strong leadership, cross-border collaboration, and a proven track record in FI coverage.

Qualifications

Significant experience (more than 15 years) in Financial Institutions coverage or related front-office role.
Strong knowledge of the FI sector with established senior client relationships.
Expertise in credit and financial analysis, transaction structuring, and lending.
Degree-level education in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline.
Excellent written and spoken English; French, Spanish, or Italian is a plus.

Responsibilities

Define and execute relationship strategies for an assigned portfolio of Financial Institutions in Southern and Eastern Europe.
Originate and develop multi-product opportunities across lending, markets, securitisation, treasury, and related services.
Build senior relationships and position SMBC Group solutions to clients.
Lead the structuring and execution of lending transactions with cross-functional teams.
Manage revenue delivery, pipeline, and credit risk for the portfolio.
