SMBC Group in Paris is seeking an Associate / AVP, GFIG Coverage – Relationship Management to join our Global Financial Institutions Group. You will develop and manage EU-based client relationships with banks and other financial institutions, coordinating multi-product solutions across SMBC’s international network.

The role covers origination, structuring and execution of lending and banking transactions, with credit oversight.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of FI coverage / relationship management experience
• Strong knowledge of banks, broker-dealers and non-bank financial institutions
• Fluency in English; French, Spanish, or Italian language skills advantageous

Responsabilités

• Act as key EU-based contact for an assigned portfolio of banks and FI across Southern and Eastern Europe
• Support senior GFIG bankers in implementing client strategies, developing relationships and originating new business
• Originate, structure and execute lending and other banking transactions with appropriate credit oversight
• Coordinate with Capital Markets, Treasury, Lending, Trade Finance, Structured Finance, Credit, Legal, Compliance and Operations teams
• Manage KYC, credit, pipeline reporting and transaction monitoring for the portfolio
• Prepare briefing materials and support senior management meetings and client visits
• Support interns or junior colleagues in line with SMBC’s values
