Job summary

Pelagon, a European defence technology company, seeks a very senior, hands-on software engineer to own the software powering its operations centre. You will architect the platform, from data ingestion and storage to ML workloads, and align embedded, AI, and software teams into a cohesive, reliable system.

You will lead data infrastructure, processing services and customer-facing applications, ensuring robustness, operability and cybersecurity by design.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience building and operating robust, data-intensive production software across components.
• Strong hands-on software development with system design to implementation.
• Deep experience with data ingestion, databases, storage, and distributed processing.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture of core services, APIs, internal tools and customer-facing apps.
• Build data ingestion, storage and retrieval for large sensor and operational data sets.
• Design and run ML workflows, scheduling, execution, and monitoring.
• Ensure platform can be deployed on Pelagon and customer infrastructure (on‑premises).
• Establish observability, testing, capacity planning and incident readiness, enabling reliable operation.
