Alan is hiring a User Researcher to anchor and prioritize questions across the company, designing and running interviews, diary studies, surveys, and usability sessions throughout the product cycle.

You will turn insights into clear narratives for Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers, and collaborate with analytics to tell a complete product story while helping grow the research culture at Alan.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a product/user researcher in a tech environment.
• Strong hands-on expertise in qualitative methods: interviews, diary studies, think-aloud usability testing, and direct observation
• Solid quantitative research skills: survey design, sampling, crosstabs, and core statistical concepts
• Sharp critical thinking: identify valuable research, scope efficiently, and deliver actionable insights
• Strategic mindset: partner with product stakeholders, communicate the value of research, and tie findings to business impact
• Compelling communication: turn complex findings into clear narratives that resonate with any audience
• Experience mentoring junior researchers or non-researchers
• You’re close to AI: built AI products, or follow the space and LM/LMM systems in production
• You care about healthcare: Alan’s mission matters to you
• English fluency, written and spoken
• (As a plus) Fluency in French, Spanish, or another European language

Responsabilités

• Gather and prioritize the most important questions from across the company, and design the right research to answer them.
• Run interviews, diary studies, surveys, and usability sessions throughout the full product cycle, not just at the end.
• Turn findings into insights that are clear, compelling, and genuinely useful to teams.
• Work with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers and collaborate with analytics/data science to tell a complete product story.
• Help grow research culture across Alan, mentoring teammates along the way.
