Job summary

Scaleway is seeking a Principal SRE to provide technical leadership across its SRE community, helping define standards, architecture and engineering practices to ensure reliability, performance and scalability of Scaleway’s sovereign cloud platform.

You will operate at a highly transversal level, guiding complex infrastructure challenges and influencing decisions across multiple teams as part of an international organization.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Site Reliability Engineering or Production/Infrastructure Engineering in large-scale environments.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and high-load cloud architectures.
• Strong expertise across a broad infrastructure stack and ability to navigate unfamiliar technologies.
• Proven track record in solving reliability, scalability, and performance challenges.
• Strong knowledge of observability, incident management, automation and production operations.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and influence across multiple engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and strategic direction across the SRE organization.
• Collaborate with Lead SREs to solve complex technical challenges and drive engineering excellence.
• Define and promote SRE standards, best practices, and technical principles.
• Address large-scale architectural challenges across distributed cloud infrastructure.
• Drive improvements in reliability, scalability, performance, observability, and resilience.
• Shape monitoring, incident management and production readiness approaches.
• Identify systemic reliability risks and drive remediation initiatives.
• Bridge SRE, Infrastructure and Engineering teams on cross-functional topics.
• Offer expert guidance on high-load and distributed systems.
• Contribute to scalable technical initiatives affecting multiple teams.
