Job summary

Scaleway in France is seeking a Principal Site Reliability Engineer to provide technical leadership across the SRE community, shaping standards, architecture and engineering practices for reliability, performance and scalability of our sovereign cloud platform.

You will collaborate with Lead SREs and 40-60 SREs, tackle complex infrastructure challenges, and drive high-load distributed systems, monitoring, incident management and production readiness across the Elements / Public Cloud portfolio.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Production Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering or DevOps within large-scale environments.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, high-load infrastructure and cloud architectures.
• Strong understanding of observability, incident management, automation and production operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and strategic direction across the SRE organization.
• Partner with Lead SREs to solve complex challenges and drive engineering excellence.
• Define and promote SRE standards, best practices and technical principles.
• Tackle complex architectural challenges across large-scale distributed cloud infra.
• Drive improvements in reliability, scalability, performance and observability.
• Shape monitoring, incident management and production readiness approaches.
• Identify systemic reliability risks and technical debt and drive cleanup initiatives.
• Act as a bridge between SRE, Infrastructure and Engineering teams on cross-functional topics.
• Provide expert guidance on high-load and distributed systems.
• Contribute to large-scale technical initiatives impacting multiple teams and products.
• Continuously evolve SRE practices as infra scales.
