Job summary

Jobgether SRL in France is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer - Payments & Fintech to own the canonical billing and entitlement platform. You will architect and implement a scalable, multi-currency, multi-entity system with close collaboration across finance, operations, and leadership.

This role focuses on payment gateways, revenue integrity, and auditable financial records, including migrations from legacy systems and ensuring reliable, compliant financial workflows.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of backend engineering experience with deep Go expertise and strong SQL skills.
• Proven experience building or rebuilding payment, subscription, billing, and ledger systems end-to-end.
• Advanced SQL skills and the ability to investigate financial discrepancies through underlying data.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a canonical billing and entitlement ledger with an append-only architecture.
• Own the subscription lifecycle across multiple payment gateways including renewals, upgrades, downgrades, and proration.
• Build webhook ingestion pipelines with idempotent processing and daily reconciliation between gateway records and internal books.
• Create data pipelines for accounting close, revenue recognition, and tax reporting.
• Lead migration from legacy billing models with data backfills and controlled regional cutovers.
