Alma is hiring for a backend engineer to build the payment infrastructure powering thousands of merchants and millions of consumers across Europe. You will design APIs and backend components, ensure security and performance, and collaborate closely with Product and other tech leaders to scale the platform.

The role requires 8+ years in backend, strong Python and SQL skills, and fluency in French with English.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend engineering on large-scale systems
• Strong proficiency in Python and relational databases
• Fluency in French with a solid level of English
• Methodical with strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience building payment or financial solutions is a plus

• Build the payment infrastructure of tomorrow for thousands of merchants and millions of consumers
• Design and develop APIs and backend components powering payments across Europe
