Lever, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer – Payments in France to lead a newly formed Payments squad. You will shape architecture, own delivery outcomes, and stay close to code while solving complex challenges to scale the payments platform.

You will coach engineers, establish effective working practices, and drive improvements in payment accuracy and cost-to-process as volumes grow, all within a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as a technical lead with squad ownership.
• Hands-on engineering background with design docs and PR reviews.
• Experience coaching junior engineers and shaping ways of working.
• Ability to operate in ambiguous environments and define technical direction.

Responsabilités

• Take ownership of the Payments squad's delivery outcomes and standards.
• Write technical specifications and review architecture decisions.
• Define the technical strategy for the payments domain and drive execution.
• Improve payment accuracy, processing efficiency, and cost-to-process as scale increases.
• Shape the squad's operating model and balance delivery speed with quality and resilience.
• Own technical sequencing and resolve blockers across teams.
• Maintain visibility of priorities and dependencies with stakeholders.
• Build a high-performing team through coaching and collaboration.
• Support hiring and promotion decisions for long-term growth.
