Job summary

Jobgether is listing a Senior Java Engineer (Payments) based in France. You will design and deliver secure, scalable payment platforms, take end-to-end ownership, and mentor teams across multiple clients. You will lead event-driven developments with Kafka, integrate external services, and champion best practices across the software lifecycle, including CI/CD, testing, and observability.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Hands-on experience with payments/fintech systems.
• Advanced Java/Spring expertise (Java 21+).
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Strong database skills (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and ORM (Hibernate/JPA).
• REST API design and OpenAPI, with external integrations.
• Build/delivery tooling: Gradle/Maven, CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable Java applications using Spring Boot.
• Lead technical architecture and data models for payment platforms.
• Deliver payment technology solutions with external APIs.
• Ensure reliability, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Build event-driven systems with Apache Kafka and idempotent flows.
• Collaborate with product, solution architects, and DevOps.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, testing, observability, and deployment.
• Promote code quality, run reviews, and mentor engineers.
• Manage production incidents and implement sustainable fixes.
• Leverage AI-assisted development while ensuring correctness.
