the company is seeking an experienced Java-focused software developer to lead modernization efforts for legacy Java applications. You will design and implement resilient services using Spring Boot, APIs, and data modeling while collaborating with customers and internal teams.

Based remotely in France, you will drive architecture decisions, ensure incremental delivery with CI/CD, and mentor engineers to raise standards. A strong background in Agile, testing, and observability is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically 8+ years of progressive experience designing, building, and delivering Java applications, including modernization initiatives.
• Expert understanding of Java fundamentals, OOP, concurrency, performance, and maintainable architecture.
• Deep production experience with Spring Boot for building resilient services and APIs.
• Experience in assessing legacy estates, decomposing monoliths, and defining modernization strategies.

Responsabilités

• Shape architecture and technology strategy across AMP modernization projects and workstreams.
• Lead assessment and modernization of legacy Java applications, identify dependencies and constraints.
• Design, implement, and review production-grade solutions using Java and Spring Boot, APIs, and data modeling.
• Establish safe incremental delivery with automated testing, CI/CD, and observability.
• Mentor engineers, raise standards, and create reusable migration playbooks; guide technical decisions.
