Mission: The Senior Geophysisicst will be based in Angola within Division DB20 GSR/Area B, of the newly created Directorate DB20 within the TEPA subsidiary. The Senior Geophysisicst will report to the Area B Leader, and work in an integrated manner with geologists, and reservoir engineers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Get/give support from/to peers,
- Act as a senior geophysicist for Geophysical matters,
- Interact with technical interfaces at the affiliate (Subsurface operations and drilling teams) and with OneTech support.
Main Activities: Be responsible for geophysical works and tasks for Area B assets. This includes:
- Analyzing and validating geophysical data through QA/QC of the fields of Area B.
- Participating in the development wells preparation and drilling follow-up, in coordination with the subsurface and drilling teams.
- Ensuring geophysical interpretation of geophysical data.
- Ensuring the proper use and integration of geophysical data in the geoscience studies conducted by headquarters in the context of new infills and delineation/ development projects to contribute to the production growth and cost optimization/reduction.
- Participating in the definition/optimization of field development plans.
On non-operated assets (OBO), the Senior Geophysisicst will:
- Be the Technical referent for all non-operated geophysics subjects.
- Propose ideas/projects for developing contingent resources within the partnership.
- Participate in the various technical and institutional workshops planned by the partnership.
- Participate in the promotion and reporting of OBO projects, in collaboration with the Senior reservoir Engineer.
- Play a role of influence and representativeness of the company as well as promotion of its technical know-how.
Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
- A M.Sc. in Geological/Geophysical Engineering, Petroleum Geology/Geophysics.
- At least 10 years of professional experience.
- Autonomy in geophysical interpretation (mainly on CIG).
- Knowledge in techniques & tools used in geophysical works.
- Knowledge of geology and reservoir and 4D interpretation, interaction with reservoir engineers.
- Fluent English (written, spoken) requested. French and Portuguese are valuable assets.
