Pennylane seeks a Senior Financial Services Legal Counsel to lead regulatory compliance as we build and license a new regulated entity in France. You will shape the legal path to authorization, define operating models, and ensure ongoing compliance across product, operations and partnerships.

You will own outsourcing, BaaS contracts, data protection measures and ACPR interactions, working closely with product and engineering.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of in-house legal experience within regulated financial services.
• Strong expertise in PSD2, DORA, ACPR guidelines and European regulatory frameworks.
• Experience leading cross‑functional programmes and regulatory engagements.
• Hands-on contract drafting and outsourcing/ vendors due diligence.

Responsabilités

• Translate complex regulations into practical plans and ensure cross‑team alignment.
• Define the target operating model for licensing and ensure defensible processes.
• Oversee day‑to‑day corporate governance, policies, and reporting.
• Lead legal work for regulated product launches and partnerships.
• Manage onboarding and migration of customers to the licensed entity.
• Negotiate outsourcing and BaaS contracts with strong risk considerations.
• Coordinate ACPR interactions and regulatory submissions.
• Train teams to embed regulatory constraints into product and operations.
