Lever, Inc. in France is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer – Data Core to build infrastructure powering a large-scale creator data platform.

You’ll design and operate systems collecting data on hundreds of millions of creator profiles across major social platforms, tackling distributed-systems challenges, reliability, and scale. You’ll own end-to-end lifecycle of backend services, optimize cost, ensure data quality and observability, and collaborate with data, search and product teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building large-scale backend or data systems with emphasis on reliability, throughput, latency, scalability and cost.
• Ability to take systems from concept to production including scoping, architecture, implementation, release, operation, measurement, and continuous improvement.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and handling partial failures, retries, idempotency, backpressure, scaling, fault tolerance, and tradeoffs.
• Experience integrating with third-party APIs or external dependencies that may be rate-limited or unstable.
• Hands-on with proxy management, request routing, or high-volume traffic handling, including anti-bot considerations.
• Operational ownership with observability, monitoring, runbooks, and data-quality controls to keep production reliable.

Responsabilités

• Build and evolve backend systems for collecting and maintaining 400M+ creator profiles across major platforms.
• Develop reliable collection infrastructure handling billions of data points with freshness and data quality.
• Design resilient services against API instability, rate limits, outages, and external disruptions.
• Optimize data collection economics through efficient requests, proxies, retries, storage, and compute.
• Own backend systems end-to-end from design to deployment and iteration.
• Establish strong observability, alerts, and safeguards to detect failures and data-quality issues.
