Lever, Inc. is seeking a Staff Engineer (Core & MLOps) based in France to shape the foundational infrastructure powering large-scale web data products.

You’ll own the architecture of core control and context planes enabling AI-driven workflows to operate reliably at production scale. Working across Kubernetes, Kafka, Java, Python, gRPC, and multi-cloud infrastructure, you’ll tackle complex distributed systems challenges at production scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building scalable distributed backend systems.
• Advanced Java with reactive frameworks and strong Python.
• Deep experience with gRPC and Protocol Buffers.
• Kubernetes, Terraform, and Kafka at scale; reliability focus.

Responsabilités

• Architect and evolve the control and context planes, including service registries and SLO enforcement.
• Own the service chassis, maintain multi-language clients and pipelines.
• Define inter-service contracts, API gateway, and schema evolution.
• Operate core platform infra across Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka.
• Lead architecture discussions via RFDs and platform initiatives.
• Establish reliability practices: SLOs, SLIs, fault isolation.
• Participate in on-call rotations and post-incident reviews.
• Mentor engineers and promote reliable software practices across squads.
