Job summary

Smiths Detection, part of Smiths Group, is seeking an IT/Digital & Network Engineer to support service IT systems across Checkpoint and Hold-baggage environments. You will perform installation, configuration, and ongoing support for servers, networks, and applications, with emphasis on VMware integrations and system upgrades.

Role involves on-call rotation, collaboration with Field Service Engineers and Sales teams, and ensuring reliability and compliance with customer and regulatory

Qualifications

• Proven experience in IT engineering activities including installation, system integration, support, maintenance, and fault diagnosis.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server and desktop operating systems; Linux/Unix knowledge required.
• ITIL Foundation awareness or experience; experience supporting enterprise IT systems in customer-facing environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT/Digital and network technical support for trials, tenders, customers, Field Service Engineers, and the Sales Team.
• Install, configure, support, and diagnose physical and virtual enterprise systems including servers and workstations.
• Carry out scheduled and ad-hoc software upgrades, patching, and security updates.
• Provide remote and onsite diagnostic support and fault resolution.
• Support VMware integration and deployment of VMware virtual environments.
• Maintain technical documentation and support guides for systems and processes.
