Smiths Detection in Vitry-sur-Seine, Île-de-France, is seeking an IT Engineer to support service IT systems, networking, and system integrations across Checkpoint and Hold-baggage platforms. You will install, configure, maintain, and upgrade virtual and physical environments, participate in on‑call support, and ensure security and compliance while delivering reliable customer solutions.

You will collaborate with Field Service Engineers and Sales to define technical requirements and delivery

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience in IT engineering activities including installation, system integration, support, maintenance, and fault diagnosis.
• Experience with VMware environments and networking for enterprise systems.
• Experience supporting enterprise IT systems in customer-facing environments.

Aufgaben

• Provide IT/Digital and network technical support for trials, tenders, customers, FSEs, and Sales Team
• Support site visits and client meetings to define technical requirements and delivery activities
• Assist in assessing business needs and evaluating existing network infrastructure and systems
• Support change control processes for hardware and software in line with procedures
• Install, configure, support, and diagnose physical and virtual enterprise systems including servers/workstations
• Act as technical contributor for products requiring system integration (e.g., EDX, CTiX, XCT, servers, workstations)
• Carry out scheduled and ad-hoc software upgrades, patching, and security updates
• Provide remote and onsite diagnostic support and fault resolution
• Support VMware integration optimization and deployment of VMware environments
• Troubleshoot VMware, server, OS, and networking issues
• Maintain technical documentation and support guides
• Keep informed of VMware, OS, and networking developments
• Adhere to Health and Safety requirements
• Record time and expenses to WBS/Work Orders
• Maintain customer-centric approach during incidents and requests
• Work with ITIL best-practice processes
• Participate in out-of-hours on-call support
