Mercor invites physicists to engage in research-level physics problems in their own subfield. You will work remotely on carefully defined assignments, with written reasoning required for every task.

Applicants should have a PhD in quantum information or quantum optics, a strong publication record, and experience with LaTeX, Python, SymPy and Jupyter. The engagement is 10 hours per week for 8–10 weeks, with a flexible schedule and high standards.

Qualifications

• PhD in quantum information, quantum optics or closely related field.
• Three to five representative papers with arXiv IDs or DOIs; first-author preferred.
• Publications will be checked against public records and arXiv/DOIs.
• English at B2 or above, including written reasoning.
• Commitment: 10 hours per week for 8–10 weeks; remote and asynchronous.
• Compensation: $80 to $110 per hour.

Responsabilités

• Work on research-level physics problems in your subfield and deliver results with written reasoning.
• Produce verifiable outputs so another specialist can follow and verify independently.
• Engage remotely, with no fixed hours, on a 8–10 week window.
