Mistral AI is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to support compliance and regulatory efforts across product, engineering, and public affairs. You will partner closely with technical and business teams to shape AI governance and mitigate risks in a rapidly evolving field.

The role covers collaboration with regulatory, IP, contracts and corporate matters, with a global team across Paris, Singapore and Palo Alto. You will influence policy, draft terms, and train staff.

Qualifications

• Master degree in law; bar admission is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a law firm or tech company, IT law focus.
• Solid understanding of AI technologies and their applications.
• Ability to identify compliance issues and develop practical solutions.
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with engineering, science and product teams to ensure legal and regulatory compliance in AI development and deployment.
• Collaborate with public affairs on regulatory efforts.
• Stay updated on AI-related legal/regulatory developments and provide practical guidance on risks and opportunities.
• Provide training and support on legal and compliance matters related to AI.
• Draft terms and other contractual materials; negotiate contracts with upstream partners or suppliers, including AI-related service agreements.
• Support the team on other legal topics as needed.
