Mistral AI is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to support GDPR compliance for product and engineering teams, drafting and maintaining compliance documentation. The legal team in Paris and Palo Alto covers regulatory, IP, contracts and corporate matters.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in privacy law within a fast-growing tech environment, strong communication skills, and an international mindset to work with teams across France, the USA, and beyond.

Qualifications

• Master degree in law with bar admission considered a plus.
• 3–5 years experience in a law firm or tech company focusing on privacy/GDPR.
• Strong knowledge of privacy regulations and guidance from authorities and EDPB.
• Understanding of AI technologies and applications is essential.
• Ability to identify issues and develop practical compliance solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; business-oriented.

Responsabilités

• Manage compliance documentation (records of processing, DPIAs, policies).
• Process data subject requests and implement GDPR processes and automation.
• Oversee employee privacy training.
• Negotiate DPAs with providers and customers.
• Monitor privacy regulations and supervisory authority guidance.
