Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Culinary Services leader who can oversee the department when leadership is off-site and function as a Nutrition Care Associate. The role may manage supplies, plan catering, and support a satellite café location to enhance patient and guest experiences.

The position emphasizes supervision, training, sanitation, safety, and collaboration with management to meet quality standards and patient engagement goals.

Qualifications

• Nutrition knowledge applicable to dietary patterns and patient needs.
• Experience in food service operations and dining services.
• Understanding of clinical diets and food preparation for various diets.
• Ability to manage staff, schedule shifts, and coach team members.
• Strong customer service focus and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to organize tasks and coordinate with other departments.
• Effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Ability to read and interpret dietary guidelines and orders.

Responsibilities

• Leads and maintains workflow of assigned area and ensures tasks are completed.
• Resolves immediate issues such as service recovery, coaching/redirecting caregivers, and rearranging staffing. Escalates to manager as appropriate.
• Participates in orienting, training, scheduling, coaching, and leading employees as appropriate.
• Ensures that department standards for quality, sanitation, and safety are met.
• Communicates issues with the appropriate members of management.
• Contributes to achievement of consumer satisfaction goals, patient engagement goals .
• Responsible to implement, under the direction of the Nutrition Services Manager, best practice, system-level initiatives.
