Jobtailor in France seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop industrial equipment from concept to commissioning. You will conduct design studies, prepare drawings and BOMs, perform calculations, and collaborate with project teams and suppliers.

You will optimize designs for performance, manufacturability, and cost, participate in design reviews, and ensure regulatory compliance. Proficiency in CAD tools and a proactive, team-focused mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Higher education degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Initial or proven experience in mechanical engineering.
• Experience in industrial environment or design office desirable.
• Proficiency in CAD tools CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of mechanical calculation or numerical simulation tools is a plus.
• Skills in sizing, functional dimensioning, tolerancing, and drawing interpretation.
• Knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, welding, machining processes, or related regulations a plus.
• Professional English proficiency is an advantage.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate with stakeholders.
• Self-reliance, curiosity, and a solutions-oriented approach.

Responsabilités

• Work on a variety of mechanical design tasks from concept through industrialization, testing, and commissioning of equipment.
• Prepare definition dossiers, general arrangement drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Perform mechanical sizing and calculations to validate solutions.
• Participate in design reviews and coordinate with project, methods, industrialization, quality, and production teams.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure conformity of parts and services.
• Contribute to prototyping, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Analyze technical issues and propose corrective or improvement actions.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, regulations, and requirements.

• Work on a variety of industrial projects, from analysis and design through industrialization, testing, and equipment commissioning
• Support clients in the development, optimization, and reliability improvement of their products and installations
• Analyze functional requirements, input data, and technical project specifications
• Conduct mechanical design studies for industrial equipment, machines, structures, and installations
• Prepare definition dossiers, general arrangement drawings, detailed drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation
• Perform mechanical sizing and calculations required to validate solutions
• Participate in the selection of materials, components, and technologies
• Optimize designs in terms of performance, cost, lead time, manufacturability, and maintainability
• Conduct or oversee functional dimensioning, tolerancing, and tolerance stack-up studies
• Participate in design reviews and coordinate with project, methods, industrialization, quality, and production teams
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the conformity of parts, equipment, and services
• Participate in prototyping, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and commissioning
• Analyze technical issues and propose corrective or improvement solutions
• Ensure that designs comply with applicable standards, regulations, and requirements
• Prepare technical documents, meeting minutes, calculation notes, and reports

Requirements

• Higher education degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical design, industrial design, or a related field
• Initial or proven experience in mechanical engineering
• Ideally, experience gained in an industrial environment, engineering design office, machine design, industrial equipment, mechanical structures, or product development
• Proficiency in computer-aided design tools such as CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or equivalent
• Knowledge of mechanical calculation or numerical simulation tools is an advantage
• Skills in mechanical design, sizing, materials, functional dimensioning, tolerancing, and drawing interpretation
• Knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, welding, machining processes, or regulations applicable to industrial equipment is a plus
• Professional English proficiency is an advantage
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate with a variety of stakeholders
• Self-reliance, curiosity, and a solutions-oriented approach
