Jobtailor in France is seeking an experienced mechanical design engineer to develop launcher components. You will create 3D models, assemblies, and precise drawings that meet stringent specs and tolerances, ensuring manufacturability and robust integration.

You will collaborate with analysis, production, and integration teams, refining concepts based on field feedback and manufacturing constraints, while maintaining thorough documentation and design reviews.

• Generate manufacturable and assemblable mechanical part concepts
• Create 3D models, assemblies, and dimensioned and toleranced drawings for launcher components and associated tooling
• Create preliminary and reference 3D models of launcher components and handling equipment
• Produce detailed, toleranced drawings that comply with technical specifications
• Apply functional dimensioning and tolerance stack‑up principles
• Design mechanical parts and assemblies for launcher development
• Refine existing concepts to ensure manufacturability, integration, and robustness
• Account for mechanical, thermal, assembly, and maintenance constraints
• Collaborate with analysis, production, and integration engineers
• Adapt CAD models based on field feedback and manufacturing constraints
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical decisions
• Maintain documentation for drawings and models
• Comply with internal validation and archiving procedures
• Contribute to the structuring of technical data as part of the deployment of a SolidWorks-related PLM project
• Participate in the production of mechanical subassemblies
• Develop functional clearances and integration methods for prototypes
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards

Requirements

• Technical degree in industrial drafting, precision fitting, or mechanical design (BTS, DUT, professional bachelor's degree, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical design within a demanding environment (aerospace, space, critical components, tooling, or mechanical structures)
• Experience designing structures, mechanisms, or tooling
• Proficiency in CAD principles and functional dimensioning
• Practical experience in 3D modeling and producing toleranced drawings
• Good understanding of integration and manufacturability challenges
• Familiarity with a CAD tool such as SolidWorks or equivalent
• Technical English required
• Thoroughness and strong attention to detail
• Collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly
• Responsiveness and adaptability in a fast-growing environment
