AXA Climate is seeking a Business Development & Growth and Underwriting Leader to drive commercial expansion across LATAM, identifying client needs and building partnerships.

The role combines strategic growth with hands-on underwriting leadership, overseeing risk, pricing, and portfolio development while collaborating with Paris-based underwriting teams and local partners. Fluency in Spanish and English is required, with Portuguese a plus.

Qualifikationen

• 7+ years of underwriting, reinsurance, or structured risk experience.
• Strong understanding of LATAM insurance markets and broker ecosystems.
• Experience in agriculture, climate risk, nat cat, or parametric solutions is highly desirable.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to build markets from scratch.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in Spanish and English; Portuguese is a strong plus.

Aufgaben

• Define and execute AXA Climate’s commercial growth strategy across LATAM markets; identify client needs.
• Originate new business opportunities with brokers, insurers, public sector institutions, NGOs, and financial partners.
• Build strategic partnerships and distribution channels in priority markets such as Colombia, Mexico, Brazil.
• Represent AXA Climate at industry conferences and market events.
• Contribute to underwriting strategy and execution for climate-related insurance and parametric products.
• Oversee opportunity selection, deal qualification, and portfolio development across markets.
• Provide strategic judgment on market entry opportunities, risk appetite, and transaction feasibility.
• Support contract structuring and navigate local regulatory environments.
