Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in the Emergency Department is seeking a Patient Access Representative to register patients, explain the process, and collect co-pays and demographics. The role supports a fast-paced, patient-focused environment with first-call resolution where possible.

On-site position with evening shifts 11:00am-7:30pm, every other weekend and holiday obligations, and a periodic on-call schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in customer service with data processing and verification.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and explain the registration process; respond to questions.
• Process co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles and balances; safeguard cash and records.
• Assist patients with Kiosk check-in and collect required signatures on forms.
• Complete Medicare Questionnaire and adjust coverage as needed.
• Instruct and obtain signatures on consents, ABNs and waivers.
• Schedule, reschedule and cancel appointments; verify information and referrals.
