Job summary

Back Market is seeking a Payroll & People Operations specialist based in Paris or Bordeaux, with 4–6+ years of hands-on experience in French payroll. You will own the end-to-end payroll process for about 300+ employees, contribute to international payroll operations, and help automate workflows with Workday and AI tools.

You will collaborate with external providers and internal teams to ensure accurate payments, timely declarations, and ongoing compliance.

Qualifications

• 4-6+ years hands-on experience processing French payroll and strong knowledge of French social security, tax and employment legislation.
• Experience managing end-to-end payroll operations, including inputs, payslip checks, reconciliations and social declarations.
• Experience working with external payroll providers and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Fluency in French and English for international collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage French payroll end-to-end for in-house processing.
• Verify inputs, payslips, reconciliations, taxes and social contributions.
• Coordinate with external providers and internal Legal/Tax teams to ensure compliance.
• Drive payroll automation initiatives using Workday and AI-powered tools.
• Maintain accurate payroll documentation and reporting for audits.
