Job summary

Syensqo SA in Lyon, France, is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Team Leader for France. You will lead a team responsible for end-to-end payroll and benefits delivery, ensure compliance, and drive process improvements in a hybrid environment.

The role requires 5+ years in French payroll, strong knowledge of regulations, and proven leadership with outsourced providers. Hybrid model with a focus on continuous improvement and strong stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll experience in France, preferably within a complex organization.
• Strong knowledge of French payroll legislation, taxation, statutory requirements, and year-end processes.
• Experience leading, coordinating, or coaching payroll professionals.
• Experience working with outsourced payroll providers.
• Strong understanding of payroll controls, reconciliations, and payroll accounting.
• Experience supporting hourly/manufacturing populations and complex Time-to-Payroll processes is preferred.
• Experience working within a union/CBA environment is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and root‑cause problem‑solving capability.
• Ability to take ownership of issues through resolution.
• Strong stakeholder and vendor‑management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a payroll‑critical environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Payroll & Benefits delivery for the France within the Payroll & Time Transformation initiative.
• Coach and develop a team of Payroll & Benefits Specialists; manage workload across payroll cycles.
• Ensure compliance, controls, and timely processing; maintain SOPs and documentation.
• Oversee vendor/service management and monitor SLAs/KPIs; driving continuous improvement.
