Jobtailor in Lyon, France seeks an IT Support/Field Technician to diagnose faults, install hardware and deploy software for retail environments. You will work with back-office and network gear, ensure system imaging, perform backups, and implement alert systems. Travel and weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities include repairing equipment, testing procedures, recording receipts/returns, and providing user support while keeping stock updated and reporting progress to the team lead.

Job Responsibilities

• Repair faulty equipment and perform testing procedures at every stage
• Install new hardware and deploy the required software
• Prevent failures through system imaging, backups, and the implementation of alert systems
• Provide user support and follow-up

• Place hardware orders and monitor decentralized stock
• Track interventions in OMTI
• Prepare reports and close tickets
• Communicate with the team leader in the event of a malfunction, delay, or specific issue
• Restore IT, network, and telecommunications equipment to operational condition

Requirements

• Vocational diploma through to a Bachelor’s degree, such as a BTS or DUT specializing in computer systems and software, or proven experience in the IT sector
• Ability to work independently and professionalism
• Strong stress-management skills
• Attention to detail and compliance with internal instructions and procedures
• Basic knowledge of networks, Wi-Fi, and Windows 7 and 10 operating systems
• Experience in the retail sector, particularly with point-of-sale systems, displays, and network/back-office environments
• Knowledge of Apple iOS (tablets)
• Knowledge of server operating systems, whether virtualized or physical, for back-office environments
• Availability for rotating shifts between 7:30 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
• Possible work on weekends and public holidays
• Frequent travel required
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of network racks and cabling
