The AWS Professional Services team is seeking an Engagement Manager (Power Backbone Industry Consultant) to lead solutioning and delivery of complex cloud projects that solve customers’ business problems. This role combines industry expertise, consulting skills and technical understanding with strong project leadership to deliver business value based on AWS-based solutions. You will bridge business requirements with technical solutions, facilitate business discussions across stakeholders and ensure alignment with customer outcomes. You will apply AWS mechanisms such as Working Backwards and PR/FAQs to visualise digitisation and transformation of core customer processes, and work with architecture and technical teams to make informed trade-off decisions considering performance, scalability, security, speed of delivery and business impact.
This specific role supports customers operating in renewable/alternative power generation, electricity networks and mobility. You will be involved from ideation and inception through delivery and enablement of end-to-end solutions and value realisation, and you will mentor and support other consultants to broaden industry understanding and consulting skills. There are opportunities to extend experience into other energy domains such as upstream, downstream and mid-stream oil and gas.
You will have strong business acumen and program/project management experience, and will deepen technical skills to identify risks that could impact value delivery. You will achieve and maintain relevant AWS certifications and effectively communicate technical concepts to business audiences. As you progress, you’ll lead increasingly complex transformation projects, shape cross-organizational delivery strategies, and establish best practices in your domain. You will apply your management and leadership capabilities to develop and execute project plans, proactively identify and manage risks, resolve issues, escalate when appropriate, and drive projects to successful completion while exceeding customer expectations.
